4th of July With a Bang!!

We had such a fun time on the 4th of July. We visited Woodstock, VT, a smallish Park-City type place with great New England charm. We had a great time driving the backroads of Vermont (lots of skiing towns), going to The Vermont Country Store (old-fashioned store with older toys, etc), attending a small-town carnival, and watching fireworks.

The kids got soooo into the holiday. It was a payoff moment as their mom. We started with a FHE about the 4th of July, Declaration of Independence, Pledge of Allegiance, etc. Chase learned the pledge VERY quickly by reading the book on his own. They were doing recitations and re-enactments all week. On the 4th, I put together a patriotic playlist for the car and printed out the words for the kids. They sang with GUSTO: The Star-Spangled Banner, I'm Proud to Be an American, Born in the USA, etc. They're definitely patriotic. :-)

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th as well! God bless the USA!

That looks like so much fun! Your kids don't know how good they have it getting to see all the history back there.
